The West of England AHSN’s Academy is hosting a free online workshop over two mornings focused on human centred product design and development.

The workshops on 22 March and 7 April 2022 are aimed at those interested in learning what it takes to develop a physical healthcare product, MedTech or app, and the importance of considering end users throughout the process.

The workshops will be led by Kinneir Dufort, a Bristol-based product design and development consultancy at the cutting edge of developing innovative ideas through human centred design.

What dates are available?

Those booking to attend the 22 March workshop will also be reserving a space at the follow-up workshop on 7 April – please only reserve a space if you can attend both dates. Both workshops are being held 9:30-13:30.

Who should attend?

These workshops and available to anyone working or living in the West of England, and will be especially relevant to:

  • Healthcare professionals (NHS/CCG) that want to create a product for their organisation.
  • Healthcare SMEs that want to create a product.

Learning aims and outcomes

The course will provide an overview of the following:

  • User needs and requirements
  • Human-centred methodologies and approaches
  • Usability and Human Factors
  • Design development, prototyping and testing
  • Routes to production and commercialisation

In addition, delegates will populate their own “Human Centred Product Development Canvas” capturing learnings and an action plan relevant to their individual product and business needs and have the opportunity for Q&A with relevant experts.
