Event summary

Applications are now open for Black Maternity Matters (BMM) senior leaders training

(February – July 2025)

Join BMM in leading a transformation in perinatal safety across the West of England. As a senior leader within the healthcare or wider system, your expertise and influence is needed to reduce the avoidable, inequitable mortality and morbidity faced by Black women, families and babies. This programme also supports building anti racist teams, ensuring that anti racist culture continues to improve staff and patient wellbeing.

Currently supporting nearly 300 perinatal staff and 50 senior leaders from our previous cohorts in the region, BMM is now looking to expand senior leader numbers to champion the ongoing transformation towards becoming Anti-Racist NHS organisations.

This is our third regional Senior Leaders Cohort and we are inviting you to join the movement. We are offering the opportunity to be immersed in in an expert led training experience integrating critical race theory, whiteness theory, and critical pedagogy. You will be welcomed into the BMM Collaborative and benefit from ongoing support, educational opportunities and community beyond the length of the 6 month active training period.
