Alison is a GP and a Primary Care Clinical Lead at Health Innovation West of England.
Alison has a special interest in the use of NEWS in the early identification and management of Sepsis and was the GP on the NICE Guidelines Development Group for Sepsis. She continues to work closely with the Royal College of General practitioners to raise awareness of Sepsis amongst her colleagues and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians Independent Advisory Group for NEWS. She was a co-author of a Health Education England teaching package “Think Sepsis” and has also been involved in developing resources for pharmacists and carers in the community.
More recently the work in Sepsis has broadened to look at ways of improving outcomes for people with a learning disability. Alongside this work Alison is involved in many of our other projects including ReSPECT, working in care homes, digital innovation and the Learning from Deaths steering group.
For many years Alison also worked in professional cricket at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club; which aligned well with her love of sport but has been a huge benefit to her work as a GP.
