The West of England Academy offers a range of free resources to help you gain knowledge and develop essential skills for innovative thinking and working. We promote the use of quality improvement methodologies to support delivery of better patient care.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR CORE IMPROVEMENT SKILLS TRAINING (FEBRUARY – MARCH 2025)

This series is a 3 x full day sessions running in 2025 at Engineer’s House in Clifton, Bristol. 

  1. Design Thinking – Wednesday 12 February 2025
  2. Principles of Project Management – Tuesday 4 March 2025
  3. Developing Confidence in Facilitation – Thursday 27 March 2025

Join us at the Design Thinking Session for an extended learning based on Generating Ideas for Change which explores further refining and developing ideas, selection and prototyping.

Participants will be able to use and apply the following tools from the Creative Problem Solving Toolkit to generate ideas:

  • Lotus Blossom
  • Pictures as Prompts
  • How would… Do it?
  • TRIZ

Participants will understand how to make decisions to select ideas to take forward as tests of change.

Participants will be able to develop ideas into concepts and practice prototyping concept for pitching and feedback.

Who can apply?

The Academy is for all health and care professionals, front line, support services and commissioners, plus innovators living, working or planning to work in the West of England.

We run free learning events as well as bespoke support for those needing specialist advice on our services.
