Event summary
Beacon Medical Group in collaboration with the South West Academic Health Science Network (SW AHSN), warmly invite you to attend and participate in a Pre-diabetes Hackathon, taking place on 03 May 2017, 09:00-16:00 at Harewood House, Plympton.
This particular hackathon will look to explore the local issues and opportunities for reducing pre-diabetes in the Plympton community.
There are ever increasing levels of people at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Current data for the Plympton community shows an under represented level of diabetes, but the expectation based on the prevalence of pre-diabetes is that there will be a wave of increased diabetes. Latest estimates show roughly 2,500 people living in Devon are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes over the next ten years*.
If you are interested in anything related to diabetes, healthy lifestyles or diet, community, volunteer work, public health or the wider social determinants of health then register to attend here.
