The highest quality of innovation, care and compassion was recognised at the recent annual awards ceremony for the Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH) NHS Foundation Trust.
Winners of the You Matter Awards were selected from over 130 nominations in 16 categories, thanking staff for their exceptional dedication to people they care for, the people they work with and people in the wider community.
Health Innovation West of England were delighted to sponsor the Research and Innovation Award. Our Chief Operating Officer, Ben Bennett, presented the award to the winners: the team behind the ‘Non-Invasive Parameters of Pulmonary Hypertension in Systemic Sclerosis’ project. The team ran a series of interlinking, studies looking at non-invasive techniques to risk assess people for pulmonary arterial hypertension, which is an often-fatal complication of systemic sclerosis, a rare autoimmune condition that could be treated if identified early on.
Ben Bennett said, “It’s a privilege to attend the ceremony and celebrate our dedicated and hard-working colleagues at RUH. I was especially pleased to be able to present the Research and Innovation award with innovation being at the heart of all our work at Health Innovation West of England. We’ll be excited to watch the further progress of this project, and all of projects shortlisted for this award.”
