The commercialisation of innovative medical technology is challenging, particularly at the stage where a scalable business model is being developed. Success depends on the ability of a company to integrate a wide range of economic, technological, commercial, social and cultural factors in the commercialisation process.
That’s why Health Innovation West of England are pleased to be teaming up with Triple Chasm to deliver this training programme, specifically designed to address the needs of later-stage health and care innovators.
Triple Chasm support the sustainable commercialisation of science and tech-enabled innovation and have developed a range of tools and programmes to help companies achieve their commercialisation ambitions.

The programme is based on the Triple Chasm Model®, which provides a holistic data-driven framework that was devised following research into around 3,000 products taken to market.

You can be based anywhere in the UK but will need to be willing to travel to Bristol for the two in-person sessions, one at the start and one at the end of the programme.
Applicants must commit to the full programme; however, companies may choose to send a range of team members to attend those sessions that best suit their area of responsibility.

The Triple Chasm Model®
The Triple Chasm Model® is based on the understanding there are three points along the commercialisation journey where growth in customer numbers frequently stall. The Triple Chasm Model® explores how to address these three main challenges or ‘chasms’.
The model provides a holistic data-driven framework based four key components:
- The commercialisation maturity of the product or service defined by the Commercialisation Readiness Level (CRL)
- The key drivers of growth at each stage along the commercialisation journey defined by the 12 Meso-economic Vectors
- The integration of maturity and the vectors into the commercialisation journey
- Integrated sustainability.
