PERIPrem (Perinatal Excellence to Reduce Injury in Premature Birth) is a unique perinatal care bundle of 11 interventions that demonstrate a significant impact on brain injury and mortality rates amongst babies born prematurely. PERIPrem also forges new ways of working, where clinicians from obstetrics, midwifery and neonatal join together to drive forward and revolutionise care for pre-term babies.

Launched by Health Innovation West of England and Health Innovation South West in April 2020, PERIPrem became part of our local activity to deliver the Maternal and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme from April 2021.

Resources to implement PERIPrem
Our implementation resources contain tools and documents that will support teams to adopt and embed PERIPrem. This includes PERIPrem baby and clinical passports and a number of documents in multiple languages that are designed to help inform and fully involve parents in the care of their preterm baby.
